A new play looking at what happened to the women caught up in the 1984 miners’ strike
John Godber and Jane Thornton are both playwrights and directors, they’re also husband and wife – now they’ve collaborated on a new play which looks at the forgotten lives of the women caught up in the 1984 miners strike. They'll be joining Miriam to explain how the women and their communities were changed forever by the strike. What has the regeneration and renewal of the old mining towns done for those women who fought to save the mining communities during the strike?
