When do you know there’s a problem?

One in six parents in England say their children have difficulties learning to talk, according to Jean Gross, the government’s new communication champion for children. More than a fifth of boys have problems with speaking or understanding language, and almost one in four of all children who have difficulties get no professional help. Jenni is joined by Jean Gross to discuss the latest research. They are joined by speech therapist Karen De Bruin.
