Margaret Tyzack
Starring in a new production of The Chalk Garden

Margaret Tyzack OBE is a veteran actress of both stage and screen. Over a long and distinguished career, she has appeared on stage in the West End and on Broadway and has won many awards including a Tony, for her role in Lettuce and Lovage opposite Dame Maggie Smith, and an Olivier Award for Best Actress in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the National Theatre. Tyzack is probably best known for her TV role as Winifred in The Forsyte Saga and has also played the part of Antonia in I, Claudius. She has also worked on the big screen with Stanley Kubrik in 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. She has just opened in a new production of The Chalk Garden at the Donmar Warehouse and joins Jenni to talk about her life and work as an actress.
