Phyllida Lloyd has directed plays in most of our regional and national theatres. In 1991 she tackled her first opera and has since worked for opera companies around the world including The Royal Opera House at Covent Garden and English National Opera. Her musical production of Mamma Mia was a smash hit both in the West End and on Broadway and she has just finished directing the film version which stars Meryl Streep. Phyllida joins Jenni to talk about her eclectic career, her love of opera and her award winning Opera North production of Peter Grimes which has just opened.
