Ruth had a happy childhood in Germany. She had two brothers and a sister and came from a well-to-do and well-respected family with a thriving auction business. But they were Jewish and when the Nazis came to power, life took a brutal turn.

Ruth and her sister were shipped to England on the Kindertransport scheme. Shortly after her arrival, war was declared and so Ruth, along with all other German refugees, was interned on the Isle of Man in a requisitioned hotel. This is just the beginning of her incredible story...
