Lizard love

Listen again

Carole had to make a decision…her reptiles or her husband…not a difficult choice as it turned out...

Carole in Florida with reptile friend

Animals have always featured largely in the life of Carole Nichols-Cunningham. As a child, her family kept all sorts of reptiles, a fruit bat, and a monkey.

Her first husband wasn't too keen on the snakes she kept around the house. But husband number two didn't seem to find her taste in pets a problem. This was a bit of luck, because by this point, Carole had up to 75 reptiles all residing at the family home.

But then rats started turning up in the freezer (to feed the snakes of course) and the live insects needed to feed the lizards were always escaping. Carole got fed up with listening to her husband moaning...something would have to be done!

Listen to the interview to find out how Carole resolved the husband/reptile crisis...
