ANDREW LACK Dr Andrew Lack is senior lecturer in Biology at Oxford Brookes University. He has just published an updated and expanded version of Robin Redbreast, originally published in 1950 by his father David Lack, an eminent ornithologist. Redbreast: The Robin in Life and Literature is published by SMH Books.
LAUREN CHILD Lauren Child is a children's author and illustrator. Her work has been translated into 30 different languages and an animated TV series based on her characters, Charlie and Lola, recently won two BAFTA awards. She has just become the UNESCO Artist for Peace, supporting UNESCO’s Programme for the Education of Children in Need which helps to get children into education. She has also just re-published her That Pesky Rat book, all profits to UNESCO.
ANDY KIRKPATRICK Andy Kirkpatrick is a mountaineer and big-wall climber. He has climbed some of the hardest routes in the Alps and has mountaineered around the world, including Patagonia in winter. His book Psychovertical describes his thirteen day ascent of Reticent Wall on El Capitan in Yosemite, California, which frames his autobiography. Psychovertical is published by Hutchinson.
JAMES BIDDLECOMBE James Biddlecombe is the singer also known as 'Biddie'. He was recently portrayed in the BBC2 series Beautiful People, the autobiographical account of the New York window-dresser, Simon Doonan. An experienced panto performer, he has played Widow Twankey, Nurse Totty and Bridget McFidget, amongst others. His new CD (The Mysterious) Mister Blonde is out now on the RPL label.
