FILM REMAKES
The hit Hong Kong police thriller Infernal Affairs - released in the UK this week - is to be remade by the film director Martin Scorsese. It's the latest in a long line of Hollywood remakes of earlier films - a tradition that goes right back to the birth of cinema. With the help of the film historians Frank Gray and Ian Christie, Front Row looks at the very early history of film remakes.

As the revolutionary new Marks & Spencer's 'Lifestore' opens in Gateshead, the minimalist architect John Pawson explains why he's built a house in the middle of the store.

Other Lifestores are scheduled to open in Kingston-upon_Thames later this year and in West Thurrock next year.
