THOMAS KENEALLY
Francine Stock talks to the Australian writer Thomas Keneally, author of the book later turned into the film Schindler's List, about his new novel. He talks about the anger that spurred him into writing a novel about a writer fleeing a tyrant's regime, and discusses his horror of writing to order.

THE TEMPEST
Shakespeare scholar Michael Dobson and critic Fiona Maddocks review the Royal Opera House's eagerly-awaited new opera The Tempest, by one of Britain's most highly regarded young composers, Thomas Adès.

The Tempest is at The Royal Opera House, London on 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 February

It will also be broadcast on Radio 3 at 7.30 pm on 18 February and on BBC Four at 7 pm on 21 February
