STEPHEN FREARS: THE DEAL
Mark Lawson talks to the film director Stephen Frears. His latest project is a controversial television play about the early relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, culminating in the deal over the Labour leadership supposedly struck between the two men in an Islington restaurant in 1992. Stephen Frears explains how he decided which version of events to believe.
The Deal is on Channel 4 on Sunday, September 28 at 9 pm

A new exhibition of oil sketches by Peter Paul Rubens reveals fascinating details of the great painter's working methods. Mark will be talking to National Gallery curator David Jaffé about how these small sketches became projects on a much larger scale.
