DIVINE INTERVENTION
Divine Intervention is a dark, comic love story by Palestinian director Elias Suleiman. Shot on the border of Nazareth and the West Bank, it's about the surreal nature of a couple trying to carry on a relationship across this boundary. John Wilson reviews with film critic Simon Louvish and Palestinian film director, Omar Al-Qattan.

Divine Intervention, certificate 15, is released at selected cinemas nationwide from today.

ENGLISH NATIONAL OPERA
A vote of no confidence in the management of the ENO was passed after plans to cut the size of the opera chorus by a third were revealed to stunned singers. As it prepares to refurbish the Colisseum this summer, the ENO faces a serious financial crisis. John Wilson talks to Dennis Marks, a former director general of the ENO, and Martin Brown of the performers union Equity about the troubled opera company.

THE BEGGAR'S OPERA
As Vaclav Havel, the president of the Czech Republic prepares to leave office in February, his play, The Beggar's Opera receives its British premiere at Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre. John Wilson and critic Susan Hitch review the production.

AIRLINE
Filming has just begun on the seventh series of BBC's Airline, a kind of fly-on-the-terminal wall documentary amidst the frayed tempers on the baggage carousels. Simon Calder, travel editor of the Indpedendent, checks out viewers appetite for checking in.

Re-edited material from the previous six series of Airline is currently being screened on ITV.
