TURNER RETURNED
The Tate Gallery today made a surprise announcement that two paintings by Turner, stolen in 1994, have been found and will go back on display in January. The paintings were insured for £24 million when thieves snatched them from a gallery in Germany. They were found undamaged. John Wilson talks to Nicholas Serota.

PETER PAN
Dr Peggy Reynolds reviews a musical version of Peter Pan at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The music is by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who also wrote the award-winning Honk!. Susannah York narrates the JM Barrie story, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provides music and Richard Wilson plays Captain Hook, in a monochrome set, with monochrome costumes by television design sultan Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen.

BOOK COLLECTING
John Baxter caught the collecting bug in the winter of 1978 when he found a rare copy of Graham Greene's children's book The Little Horse Bus. BRAZILIAN CULTURE MINISTER
Brazil has a new culture minister, announced a few hours ago in the city of Sao Paulo, for the incoming administration of President-elect Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva, known as Lula.

The culture minister's name will probably be familiar because he has an international following, it's Gilberto Gil, the singer and musician, who won a Grammy World Music Award in 1998. Francine Stock talks to Brazilian journalist Jan Rocha in Sao Paolo
