ENGLISH HERITAGE
English Heritage suggested that – from an architectural point of view - London’s West End – like many other parts of the country – may be changing too fast. The conservationist organisation published its first ever audit of the ups and downs of Britain’s buildings and landscape – and highlighted what it sees as several threats to the country’s heritage. Mark Lawson interviews Simon Thurley, chief executive of English Heritage.

SOKARI DOUGLAS CAMP
Kensington High Street in West London was transfomed this morning by the arrival of a 15-foot-high stainless steel sculpture of one man being raised on the shoulders of another. Commissioned by the Jerwood Foundation for the Commonwealth Institute, Man on Man is the creation of the Nigerian artist Sokari Douglas Camp.
