 Letters from Bergen In part 4 of Alwynne's audio diary, recorded in 2003/4, as she composed her BBC-commissioned Piano Concerto Map of the Moon, Alwynne knuckles down on Christmas Day; explains her piano pedal effects; contemplates variation form; and, miles from where she started, ends her compositional journey. The first broadcast of Map of the Moon performed by Nicolas Hodges (piano) with The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zsolt Nagy can be heard on Radio 3's Hear & Now on Saturday April 28th at 10.30pm.  Images show a winter's day from Tomas Espedal's flat in Bergen, and a lunar landscape in Reggello Italy.
