Connie Dover: Lady Keith's Lament (4mins 55secs)
Album: If I Ever Return
Taylor Park 301

BACKGROUND
All of the pieces I've chosen have a similar melancholy that binds them together. Opening with the Hindemith, it shows the wonderful expansiveness that four identical instruments can provide. Maguire's viola playing in Dixie Chick's "on top of the World," coupled with it's counterpoint are a study of contrasts and similarity with the modern sounds of the Hindemith. Connie Dover's rendition of "Lady Keith's Lament" serves to bind the other two together in tone and style.
