BACKGROUND
This is a sort of "West meets East" selection. John Lambert's seldom-heard "Meditations" was written to convey the stillness of a Korean Zen monastery using beautiful, spaced piano chords and a bass flute; a seldom-heard miniature masterpiece. I chose 1 Giant Leap's "The Way You Dream" for the beauty of Asha Bhosle's singing and I thought this linked well through to Jon Hassell's idiomatic, eastern sounding treated-trumpet playing in David Sylvian's title track from Brilliant Trees. I hope you enjoy it.
