BACKGROUND
I have created this playlist because it ties together three entirely different types of music. The three pieces are carefully balanced and very atmospheric, communicating with the listener at a deep level.

Kyrie comes from Lou Harrison's Mass to Saint Anthony which he started writing in 1939. The work remained unfinished for 15 years, eventually premiering in 1954. This performace which is the CD premiere was recorded in 1992.

Yiannis Markopoulos comes from the island of Crete. He ismprobably best known for his music to the BBC television series Who will pay the ferryman. This piece is called Erotiko, which translates as Love Song, and comes from the film Dihasmos, released in 1965.

T Bone Burnett is mostly known as a music producer these days. Kill Switch comes from his most recent solo album which was released in 1992, and demonstrates Burnett's own unique musical style.
