:: Track 3
Nouvelle Vague: Friday Night Saturday Morning (4 mins) Album: Nouvelle Vague Peace Frog Records PFG051CD
BACKGROUND
These 3 very different vocal tracks work together to form a kind of human journey from difficulty to defiance to simple joy in a modern-day crap night out. Ian Mcmillan's Bending and picking vocal on the Angel Brothers new album is something very special and not often heard- a poem set to music effectivly. Sherburn, Bartley and Scott's Whiskey in the jar (from their new album) is a tender and revitalising version of this well known song. Friday Night Saturday Morning by Nouvelle Vague is a sort of antidote to the first two tracks and is also a suprisingly tender rendition of a very simple modern activity that breathes new meaning into going out for a drink, especially I think in the light of the preceeding songs!

Helen, Yorkshire This sounds interesting. I'd especially like to hear the track featuring Ian Mcmillan. Sat Feb 12 19:27:21 2005
