BACKGROUND
The three tracks here use the human voice in interesting and unususal ways. The first piece by Ligeti is a transcription of the alphabet sung by a choir, finding interesting harmonies and tones in the human voice. Bjork, in her album Medulla use almost entirely electronically processed voices that act as both rhythm and melody. Finally, Animal Collective emulate similar effects mainly without the use of electronics, layering their voices over each other and acoustic guitar.
