BACKGROUND
What I am aiming for is a thread, however tenuous, that connects the angular, experimental music of Beefheart and the eerie soundscapes of Arild Andersen with the harsh and gutteral music of Bukka White. Despite being very different in mood and texture these three pieces share a common heritage. The idea of the the Blues as the starting point for a great deal of modern western music is something that has fascinated me since I first began to take an interest in music and it is that very simple idea that I am attempting to convey here. No mood or anything of that sort, just a thread!
