Trophy Twin's Biography
The Trophy Twins are one of House music's rising stars. They began their career in the North of England at clubs like Gatecrasher, but these days are recognised on an international level. In addition to all this they still find time to be residents for KissdaFunk at Mission in Leeds, Dusted at Egg in London, and Judgement Sundays in Ibiza.
For the last few years the Trophy Twins have been developing their diverse and varied sound amongst the rising stars of the House scene, when in 2003 they were announced as Mixmag 'Future Heroes' alongside Nic Fanciulli and Tom Neville.
The Trophy Twins are no strangers at major events. They performed a live mix for Radio 1's Ibiza weekend in 2004 to over 1 million listeners and in addition they have performed at Godskitchen Global Gathering 2005, Creamfields 2004, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, Radio 1's Secret Party in Ibiza, Escape in the Park, MTV's Aquasonic Festival in Ibiza, the main stage at One Big Weekend at Perry Park in Birmingham and more recently for the Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland. 2006 has seen a return to Manumission in Ibiza, the 'Love Leeds' Festival, and also debuts at Virgin V Festival in Stafford and O2 Wireless Festival in Leeds.
The past couple of years have also seen them barely out of the studio. Working on various remix projects and original material lead to them joining the 24 Management team, and the launch of their own label with Funkagenda, 'Pop Pop Records'. Their debut release, 'Anarchism' gained heavy support from the likes of Deep Dish and Steve Lawler . 'Dutty Rhythm' was aired for four weeks continuously by Judge Jules on his Saturday evening show.
'Ill Experience' on Red Recordings received big support by Carl Cox [5/5] and Pete Tong, playing it both on his live Essential Mix from Space in Ibiza and on the Essential Selection too. The Trophies remixed a third track for Red Recordings, 'High' by Disciples of Sound, then having produced on all 3 of their first 3 releases, which Carl Cox then named label of the year 2005. Keep your eyes peeled for future productions, 'The Way' forthcoming on the Shapeshifters' Noctural Groove label, and 'Muziq', another FATT collaboration with Funkagenda, forthcoming on Matteo Esses Italian Cosmonote Blue label...
Due to performing at Radio 1 events with their technical flair and cheeky demeanour, the Radio 1 bosses decided to enroll them into a specially selected team of DJ's that hosted a new specialist dance show The Residency. The Trophies featured alongside Eddie Halliwell, Nic Fancuilli, Crissy Criss, Jon O'Bir & Kutski, Tayo & Plastician.
Not to stop there, summer 2006 saw the Trophies signed full time to the Radio 1 team. The duo will host a new show, 'The Aftershow', airing 4-7am every Saturday & Sunday Morning.
