Producers Note:
So it's the August bank holiday weekend and people across the country will be partying at numerous different events such as the Reading Festival - but the largest party of all takes place over two days in the West part of London. Yes the Notting Hill Carnival is one of the biggest street parties in the world and music obviously plays a large part in this.
Traditonally the Carnival's music was based around Soca & West Indian Vibes. Over the years this has developed into a much richer melting pot of music and culture from all over the globe. Today the Carnival is filled with stages and floats mashing up the crowds with all sorts of music from Dancehall to RnB to hip Hop to House to Soca to Drum n Bass and beyond. In the show tonight we are going to hear from some of the best loved djs at Carnival including Rampage, who are known for having one of the best stages and Alex Jordan who is 1Xtra's champion of Soca music.
So stick your shades on whatever the weather, grab yourself a cocktail and get those hips swinging - it's party time on One World.
