Aziz Ibrahim has already had a diverse and colourful career as a session musician for Simply Red, Asia and the Stone Roses. He's now working as a solo artist, writing and singing his own songs. Aziz co wrote many of the songs on Ian Browns debut solo album, 'Unfinished Monkey Business'. He also released an EP in 2000 which featured Paul Weller. His new album, 'Lahore to Longsight' which again features Paul Weller and many other luminaries from the Brit Pop era and beyond is out in the summer.
Y4K is the compilation CD from the Distinctive Breaks label and has been putting out compilations for quite some time now. We asked not one but three of the DJs on their roster to come in and tear up the decks in Radio 1. Listen back to Ils, Eddie Temple Morris and General Midi bootleg in the mix. As you will discover the mix is all about bootlegs and covers of tunes many of you will be familiar with.
