The Download Lowdown

Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance

Our very own rock gods, Dan Carter (presenter of the Radio 1 Rock Show) and Mike Davies (from the Radio 1 Punk Show) were let out on the loose with video cameras so that you could see some of the best bits.

Mike managed to catch up with Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance but first off, Dan Carter went on a bit of a walkabout and realised that there are some rules to festival going. Listen and learn people..

Rule 1

Rule 2

Gerard on Download: "No pee-pee smell, no doo-dy smell"

Mike Davies from the Radio 1 Punk Show talked to Gerard from My Chemical Romance whilst making sure he got at least one of his 'five pieces of fruit a day'

Gerard Way liked my hair

Meet Harry, some say he's the wisest member of the Rock Show team... He does album reviews on the Rock Show and he's only 8 years old!

Shikari on stage

After getting here on their tourbus, we at Radio 1 couldn't miss the chance to see Enter Shikari live. Check it out as Harry times his hand clapping just right.

Even Sand Men like ice cream

At a festival like Download, it's not unusual to turn the corner and be confronted by a load of Star Wars characters desperate for a 99 with a flake.

Some seriously cool trikes...

Rock music and motorbiking go hand in hand which is why the racetrack at Donington is the natural home for a pure rock festival such as Download. Dan checks out some of the bikes for sale, going for a cool £32,000!
