World-renowned South African DJ Shimza previews his new single Darling, a house version of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me featuring Aloe Blacc.

Shimza is a globally successful DJ and producer from South Africa. When he’s not making people dance in London, Beirut, Dubai, Bali, Brazil, Thailand, Romania, Ibiza, Chicago, Lebanon – the list goes on – he’s making his own music.

In this episode of This Is Africa we get to preview his brand-new single Darling, which is a house version of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me featuring Aloe Blacc.

Shimza talks about his love of house music, and how significant he feels it is that Africans are now an appreciated part of the international dance music scene.

He also talks about his home, Tembisa township, and raising money for kids in need via his annual One Man Show events attended by thousands.
