Netflix to buy the film and streaming business of Warner Bros Discovery for $72bn

The takeover is set to create a new giant in the entertainment industry, but the deal will still have to be approved by competition authorities. Some in the film industry, including the Writers Guild of America, have criticised the deal, saying it would negatively impact workers and consumers.

Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin has spent the last two days on a visit to India - we hear from our correspondent, Steve Rosenberg, who has been travelling with President Putin; and we hear the reflections of Israeli singer Noa, who represented the country at Eurovision in 2009, as four countries have pulled out of next year's contest in protest at Israel's participation.
