Deadly Drone Strike Hits Kyiv Amid Peace Talks
A review of the week with the latest news.
In Ukraine, a drone attack overnight has killed one man and injured several others in the capital Kyiv. This comes after President Zelensky 's chief of staff resigned. Andriy Yermak stepped down after anti- corruption investigators searched his residence earlier in Kyiv. Mr Yermak headed the Ukrainian delegation at talks about ending the war with Russia.
Also in the programme, we discuss the use of bamboo as a material for construction. About one billion people in warm, tropical climates live in homes made from bamboo and that's because it's easy to grow, durable and sustainable. But it's come under the international spotlight because of the deadly fire at a residential tower block complex in the Tai Po district of Hong Kong on Wednesday. At least 128 people were killed.
And a study published this week in the journal Science, has cast new light on how cats came to be domesticated and part of the daily life of so many human beings. Apparently, one myth that has been shattered is that cats were domesticated about ten-thousand years ago.
