Trump grants Hungary exemption from sanctions

President Trump held talks with Hungarian PM Viktor Orban at the White House

President Donald Trump held talks at the White House with the right-wing Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban. Mr Trump granted Hungary a one-year reprieve from sanctions on procuring Russian oil and gas.

Also in the programme: Democrats in the US Senate block a measure that would ensure pay for essential federal employees during the ongoing government shutdown. An air traffic controller tells us what it's like working for no pay.

And the Nobel prize-winning scientist James Watson - who co-discovered the structure of DNA - has died at the age of 97. We'll hear a tribute to his work from one of his former students.
