
Trump pledges border crackdown in marathon convention speech
Trump says God was on his side when he survived an assassination attempt. He's pledging to finish the border wall between the US and Mexico, and to stop illegal immigration.
Donald Trump has described Saturday's assassination attempt against him in detail as he accepted his party's presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention. In a speech lasting more than ninety minutes, he said he'd felt safe that day because he had God on his side.
Mr Trump also said pledged to finish the border wall between the US and Mexico, and to stop illegal immigration. Internationally, he said the world was on the brink of World War Three and vowed to end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
