Protesters shot dead in Kenyan capital

Police have killed at least five people during huge protests in Nairobi.

Police in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, have shot dead at least five people during huge protests against planned tax increases. The crowds broke through police cordons and entered parliament, setting part of the complex alight. We'll follow events as they happen, speak to protestors across the country and connect with our correspondents on the ground.
