500 days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukraine’s government and its Western supporters hope a broad counteroffensive launched last month will change the battle lines and return Russian-occupied areas to Ukrainian control. Also this week, the Palestinian town of Jenin saw a three-day Israeli military operation, the largest attack on the occupied West Bank in two decades.
