Coronavirus Conversations: Filipino nurses

We hear about the life of the Filipino nurse Sister Lailani Dayrit. She is one of the more than 100 hospital and care staff in the UK, who have died with the coronavirus. We discuss the numbers of Filipino nurses who are working in hospitals around the world; an estimated 150,000 are in the US alone.

Also, South Korea has reported its first day with no locally transmitted cases of Covid-19 since the middle of February, and we’ll look at the countries that are being seen as successful in tackling the disease. Could their lessons work in other countries?

We also speak to Lydia Guthrie, a mother of two, who was telling the programme last week about volunteering for human testing of a Covid-19 vaccine. She started her trial today, and we catch up with her about what happened.
