
Malta’s police chief resigns after criticism over investigation into journalist’s murder
Malta's head of police has been criticised for not investigating government officials or following up on financial crime
Lawrence Cutajar, who headed Malta's police force for three-and-a-half years, faced a barrage of criticism over the investigation into a local journalist’s 2017 murder, alongside a failure to investigate top government officials and to follow-up on financial crime reports.
