
Germany prepares for possible AfD victories in local elections
East German states Saxony and Brandenburg go to the polls today.
Elections are being held today in the states of Saxony and Brandenburg in former communist eastern Germany. In Brandenburg, the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany, or AfD, is leading the polls together with the ruling centre-left Social Democrats. Why are so many voters in Brandenburg opting for the AfD? We hear from Andreas Kalbitz, the leader of the AfD in Brandenburg.
