
CIA-backed Afghan forces 'committed war crimes', new report says
The campaign group Human Rights Watch says the troops "committed summary executions and other grave abuses without accountability".
Afghan strike forces backed by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have committed abuses "amounting to war crimes", according to a new report. Human Rights Watch alleges the troops "committed summary executions and other grave abuses without accountability". These include extrajudicial killings, indiscriminate airstrikes, and kidnappings.
Also on the programme: India formally divides the states of Jammu and Kashmir into two new federally-administered territories; and a train fire in Pakistan has killed at least 70 people.
