Hong Kong protests continue despite ban
Police fire water cannon and tear gas.
Today’s march in Hong Kong was banned by police but tens of thousands took part anyway, in Hong Kong’s thirteenth consecutive weekend of protests. Police used tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon to disperse crowds, as some protestors lit fires and threw petrol bombs. We’ll hear the latest, as well as from a pro-democracy lawmaker released on bail following his arrest on Friday.
Also in the programme: what’s happening in the key Afghan city of Kunduz, where fighting between the government and the Taliban continues; and we hear from a tribal leader from the Brazilian Amazon about what he’d like the government to do about the fires there.
