Hong Kong's pro-democracy campaigners arrested

The Hong Kong authorities have intensified their crackdown on dissent ahead of an important political anniversary. Police conducted a wave of arrests and denied permission for a mass rally on Saturday, which marks five years since Beijing ruled out fully democratic elections in the territory.

Also in the programme: An investigation by BBC News Arabic has found evidence of an alleged war crime which took place in the rebel-held province of Idlib in Syria last month; and alternative ways of treating the menopause.
