This year’s Oscars made history for diversity.
The Oscars have been criticized for lacking any non-white nominees in the main categories, but this year a number of winners where African Americans and people of colour. Also, Black Panther's costume designer Ruth Carter, and its production designer Hannah Beachler, both became the first ever African American winners in their categories. We assess the progress with two actors of colour.
Hundreds of people have been protesting in Sudan's capital, Khartoum, and its second city of Omdurman. It comes after the president, Omar al-Bashir, declared a national state of emergency on Friday. We reached out to Sudanese people to find out their thoughts on developments.
In Kenya, "conmen" posing as President Uhuru Kenyatta have defrauded a Nairobi businessman millions pretending that they would award him with state tenders.
