Live From Washington - Kavanaugh Accuser Testifies

Senators hear testimony from the accuser of the US Supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

OS is live from Washington as the Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony about the alleged sexual assault committed by Brett Kavanaugh, the nominee to become a judge on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Christine Blasey Ford gives testimony of the alleged sexual assault that she says happened 36 years ago, this testimony will be key in deciding whether Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court will be accepted.

The committee will also hear testimony from Kavanaugh himself, and both him and Ford will answer questions from a panel of 21 senators.

The nine-member Supreme Court plays a vital role in US political life as it has the final say on US law, President Trump has called the hearing an "important day in the history of our country".
