
Ukraine Orthodox Church Granted 'Independence'
The recently formed Orthodox Church of Ukraine has been granted 'independence', marking a historic split from the Russian Church.
A large section of Ukraine's Orthodox Church has officially broken with the Russian church. The head of the global Orthodox Church has signed a document in Istanbul, Turkey, to that effect. The move has provoked a furious response in Russia, where the Church has broken off links, deepening a split in the worldwide Orthodox Church.
Also on the programme: In Hungary, trade union and opposition leaders take to the streets again; and more than three million dollars paid by a sushi restaurant owner for a big bluefin tuna - conservationists are not happy.
