America's Opioid Epidemic

Interviews, news and analysis of the day’s global events.

Every 8 minutes in the United States somebody dies of a drug overdose. That's led President Trump this week to sign into law a rare bipartisan legislation that addresses the crisis. Sarah Svoboda reports from Manchester in New Hampshire where a groundbreaking program in 2016 was established to help tackle the crisis.

Also in the programme: a report on Serbia's domestic violence problem; new details on the attempted murder of a former Russian Spy in the UK; and look ahead to the run off in this weekend's presidential election in Brazil.
