
Imprisoned Ukrainian Film Director Wins Human Rights Award
European parliament gives top human rights award to Oleg Sentsov, who is in a Russian jail.
The European Parliament has awarded the Sakharov prize for human rights to a jailed Ukrainian filmmaker, Oleg Sentsov. He was a vociferous opponent of Moscow's annexation of his native Crimea in March 2014 and is serving a 20 year prison sentence in Russia on terrorism charges.
