
Russia Gears Up for Biggest War Games Since Cold War
It will involve 300,000 service personnel
Preparations are under way for Russia's biggest military exercise since the Cold War, involving about 300,000 service personnel, in eastern Siberia. China is sending 3,200 troops to take part in "Vostok-2018", with many Chinese armoured vehicles and aircraft. Mongolia is also sending some units.
The United Nations says more than thirty thousand people have been displaced from Idlib by the latest government bombing there. The UN's humanitarian chief says a full scale military operation to recapture the last big rebel stronghold in Syria could create a humanitarian catastrophe.
Ethiopia is opening it's shared border with Eritrea for the first time in decades on Tuesday. The move means families who haven't seen each other over many long years will finally be able to reunite.
