Ugandan Opposition MP Bobi Wine Due in Court Today

The politician and musician stands accused of attacking the presidential motorcade.

The musician and opposition MP Robert Kyagulanyi known as Bobi Wine is due in court today. He is accused of attacking the presidential motorcade on Monday night, following election-related violence in a controversial by-election in Arua in the north of the country.

Twenty four people are known to have drowned when a boat capsized in Sudan, most of them children. Residents in the area have long been warning about the flooding of their land due to the construction of a controversial dam and the closure of seasonal creeks.
