Rallies on Charlottesville Anniversary
A handful of white supremacists held a brief rally near the White House
A handful of white supremacists and far right supporters have held a brief rally near the White House in Washington to coincide with the anniversary of racially charged violence at Charlottesville which left one person dead.
Polls have closed in Mali where people have been voting under heavy security in a run-off presidential poll. In some locations, soldiers performed body searches on voters.
A Taliban attack on the city of Ghazni has continued for a third day - with intense fighting and conflicting claims over who is in control. People inside Ghazni say it has been overrun, with very little still under government control.
