
Strike on Yemen Bus Kills 29 Children
UN calls for an independent investigation into strike by the Saudi-led coalition
Over the last two years, the protests against marginalization in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon have been met with a crackdown by security forces. The violence has resulted in guerrilla operations and demands for an independent state.
The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has called for an independent investigation into an air-strike by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen which killed or wounded dozens of children. They were in a school bus which was hit as it drove through a rebel-held part of the country.
Newly-elected Zimbabwean president Emmerson Mnangagwa is due to be sworn in on Sunday after his narrow victory last month. The inauguration preparations are underway at a time when the opposition MDC is contesting the results of the vote.
