A young villager says Rohingya Muslims live in constant danger in Rakhine state

Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims have crossed into Bangladesh to flee the violence. But those who have decided to stay in Myanmar live in constant danger. A young man has given BBC Newsday a first-hand account of the sufferings the Rohingyas in Rakhine state.

We get the latest from a massive rescue operation which is being carried out in the southern Philippines after the region was hit by tropical storm Tembin. More than two hundred people have died and thousands have been displaced.

Believe it or not. North Korea has a fan club in the Japanese capital Tokyo. Its members are called Sengun-Joshi, a Japanese phrase meaning military-first girls. We speak to the founder of the club.
