The Rohingya refugee crisis continues to worsen
The Rohingya refugee crisis continues to worsen. UN sources now estimate that 38,000 people fled Myanmar to seek refuge in Bangladesh. This is a week after Rohingya insurgents attacked police posts and an army base in Rakhine state, prompting clashes and a military counteroffensive.
More people in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been driven from their homes this year than in any other country in the world. According to Oxfam, more than 900,000 people have been displaced, which is higher than the combined total of Nigeria and South Sudan.
