Charismatic, smart and kind, Martha often played the peace-maker within her chaotic family. She had a good relationship with her brother and sister and a bright future in the medical profession seemed assured when she first met the Doctor… but when he offered her a trip in the TARDIS, how could she refuse?

The Doctor whisked Martha away from Earth and into a world of danger and excitement but she often felt disappointed that he repeatedly harked on about Rose… She eventually walked away from her life in TARDIS, aware her feelings would never be returned. But that farewell would not be the end of her adventures with the Doctor and after joining UNIT they fought side-by-side against enemies including Daleks and Sontarans. She eventually married Mickey Smith.
