Billy Kennedy
A born and bred gangster obsessed with power and control, Billy Kennedy will destroy anyone in his path to get what he wants.
Above all else, Billy values loyalty but is not above being actively disloyal himself.
After a stint in jail, Billy returned to Shieldinch and offered Lenny Murdoch a stake in his new business venture – heroin.
A man who uses violence as a means to an end, he is unpredictable and ruthless. He can be smooth talking and witty - but it’s always at the expense of someone else. When Billy loses his temper, it’s an icy rage as opposed to blazing fury. As such, Billy Kennedy has no friends, he only has reluctant associates.
Billy sees women as playthings, who serve his desires and anyone else as pawns to do his bidding. Although married to younger woman, Mandy, Billy isn’t faithful to Mrs Kennedy. But that’s not to say he’d accept any infidelity on her part. Little does he know that while he’s back in Spain on business, Mandy has been enjoying the company of Gabriel Brodie. Heaven help them both if he ever finds out about their affair.
Billy enjoys the fact that he creates fear in the hearts and minds of the inhabitants of Shieldinch. It confirms his power and status for him.
But Billy Kennedy’s made too many enemies along the way and maybe his reckless disregard for others will come back to haunt him in ways he cannot anticipate.
